1. Deadman Wonderland

The story turns to Ganta Igarashi, an apparently regular middle school student in Nagano Prefecture. Ganta, as an escapee and survivor of the big earthquake, has no recollection of the catastrophe and has led a regular life.

All of this changes as a weird figure dressed in blood and crimson armour floats through his classroom windows. The “Red Man,” grinning maniacally, slaughters Ganta’s whole class.

Instead of murdering Ganta, the “Red Man” implants a red crystal shard in his chest. Ganta is put on trial as a suspect just days after the tragedy.

He is sentenced to death at Deadman Wonderland, a jail that serves as a theme park and is supervised by warden Tsunenaga Tamaki (who acted as Ganta’s lawyer and was actually responsible for the rigged evidence against him).

The series follows Decim, the lone bartender at the Quindecim bar, where persons who died at the same moment are transported, and his helper.

3. When They Cry

In the summer of 1983, Keiichi Maebara has just arrived to the quiet small town of Hinamizawa and rapidly becomes close friends with classmates Rena Ryuuguu, Mion Sonozaki, Satoko Houjou, and Rika Furude. However, danger lurks beneath the surface of their seemingly beautiful existence.

Keiichi learns about the local stories surrounding the village’s yearly celebration as it prepares for its annual festival. To his surprise, he finds that other killings and disappearances have occurred in the village in recent years, and that they all appear to be linked to the festival and the community’s patron god, Oyashiro.

Keiichi attempts to question his new friends about these instances, but they remain curiously silent and refuse to provide him with the information he needs. As strange incidents continue to occur, he wonders what more his friends are hiding from him, and whether he can really trust them at all.

Lucy is a “Diclonius,” an unique breed of human born with a small set of horns and invisible telekinetic hands, which makes her a victim of the government’s harsh scientific testing. The plot takes place in a little peaceful Japanese village named Sotoba during a particularly hot summer in 1994. At the same time as a strange family comes into the long-abandoned Kanemasa house on top of a hill, a series of inexplicable deaths starts to spread throughout the village. Megumi Shimizu, a young girl who wishes to leave the village and live in the city, pays them a visit and never returns.

She is subsequently discovered laying in the jungle, where she sadly dies. Doctor Toshio Ozaki, head of Sotoba’s only hospital, suspects an epidemic at first; but, as investigations continue and the deaths mount up, he discovers — and becomes sure — that they are the work of the “shiki,” vampire-like monsters who plague the village. Yukiteru Amano, a lonely high school student, spends his days writing a journal on his smartphone and speaking with his two seemingly fictitious friends Deus Ex Machina, the god of time and space, and Murmur, the god’s servant. Deus, revealing himself to be a real entity, offers Yukiteru a “Random Diary,” which contains very detailed future notes, and puts him into a brutal battle royale with 11 other holders of equally strong future diaries.

Yukiteru must discover and kill the other 11 in order to survive, with the last person standing proclaimed as the new god of time and space. He grudgingly joins forces with his obsessive stalker Yuno Gasai (who also has such a diary), and she takes on the responsibility of ensuring his safety. But the girl is more than meets the eye, and she may have other plans for her unrequited love.
