EA Play started with some big announcement for Apex Legends players. Starting this fall, Apex Legends will support cross-play between PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Oh, and Nintendo Switch when the game launches there in a few months.
That’s big progress for Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts, as EA is finally moving to the Switch in a big way. EA announced at the EA Play 2020 event.
The EA Play announcement didn’t move on next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, but an eventual release on those new platforms seems all but certain. Even so, EA’s announcement bodes well for the Apex community and speaks to Respawn and EA’s long-term loyalty to the game.
