Risk Of Rain 2 Tier List
Since patch 1.0, the Captain has been present in the Risk of Rain 2 universe. He has quickly emerged as my favourite survivor in the game. What draws me back is his main meta of being efficient and possessing damaging weaponry.
The Vulcan Shotgun, Captain’s M1, is without a doubt the greatest M1 in the game. On the other hand, his secondary is a little strange, and it’s often unreliable, and Power Tazer isn’t my type. This is offset by his passive, Defensive Microbots, which allow him to be extremely defensive in situations where rotation is essential.
Finally, this survivor expands his diverse arsenal with a taser that can stun enemies in position and an orbital shot that causes considerable damage while also stuning enemies in an area. When the Captain requires it, these tools will provide him with much-needed space from his foes.
When she receives the perfect goods to complement her play, the Loader has excellent offensive potential. While her offence per run may vary, her mobility is the one trait that remains consistent.
She primarily attacks with her fists. Connecting a basic strike generates a scrap barrier that shields her from enemy assaults for a short period of time. This means she can close up on foes and punch them with little risk.
I strongly advise newbie players in Risk of Rain 2 who are reading this tier guide not to go straight to the loader. She can be difficult to operate, particularly because her swinging mechanic requires a high level of consistency because it is your sole chance to hit adversaries. On the other hand, you’re not looking forward to acclimating to her swinging mechanic. You can alternatively wait for the Thunder Gauntlet to charge, which deals 2100 percent damage. Similarly, the M551 Pylon necessitates patience due to its quick recharge.
The Mercenary is an entertaining survivor to utilize. His arsenal includes melee strikes, swift movement, and varied skills. Being a melee may appear to be a disadvantage in this game, but the mercenary has numerous weapons to compensate.
For beginners, he has instant access to a double jump passive. This increases his mobility and is far superior to the Artificer’s hover.
To compensate for his melee approach, he possesses strong HP recovery. When he comes close to enemies, he is always at risk, but if you know what you’re doing, you won’t get hit as much.
MUL-T is designed to be a primary tank survivor, with the highest initial HP, HP growth, and armour stats in the game. If dodging and placement aren’t as important to you, MUL-T might be the character for you.
Because of his nail gun and rebar, his offensive output is sufficient. If you want to have some fun with it, using the double rebar technique increases his damage potential as well, although this will most likely be patched out shortly.
MUL-T can enter transport mode to obtain extra speed and armour. This is ideal for tense situations in which you need to swiftly adjust and regroup. MUL-T can also unleash several blast canisters from a retreating position to damage and disable enemy waves.
The Huntress defines her mobility by being shifty, whereas the Loader focuses on covering long distances. Her strafe and blink skills essentially force her to eliminate opponent waves while moving at all times. This playstyle is the foundation of her defence because it allows her to dart in and out of danger with ease.
Her glaives are her best bet for damage and crowd control. They bounce around numerous enemies, delivering more damage with each bounce. She also has arrow rain, an AoE ability that slows enemies while causing damage.
Acrid’s damage capability is increased because its poison produces a continual stream of damage ticks on top of its assaults. You may not notice it at first, but it accounts for the majority of the heavy lifting on your runs.
You may be urged to use Acrid as a melee character, but it is best used as a poke survivor. Poison adversaries, switch to a different mob, and finish off opponents with low health. Rinse and re-rinse. Because the Acrid lacks the proper defensive weapons to combat opponent waves head-on, this playstyle is critical.
The Engineer’s playstyle relies around controlling the map with his turrets. He can run-and-gun like the Huntress, so move around while firing and erecting turrets to keep an eye on your flank.
The Engineer has excellent defensive options, the best of which is his Bubble Shield, which shields anything inside it from projectiles.
Hunkering down inside the bubble while firing down attackers was a viable technique in your previous runs. On higher levels, however, you’d be better off leaving your turrets in the bubble while you move around outside, picking foes from there. This is because superior enemies will have no issue rushing you inside the bubble, putting an end to the run early.
If Rex were more accessible to players of all ability levels, he would undoubtedly be in the top tier. He has tremendous potential, particularly on offence, but you always take a risk with a run if you’re not used to playing him.
Rex is dangerous since he relies on depleting his own health to do massive damage to foes. When utilizing this survivor, finding the perfect balance of offence and survival is critical.
Fortunately, Rex is not without his tools. His basic inject attack has the ability to restore HP equal to a percentage of the damage he dealt. Seed Mortar is the highlight of his offensive toolset due to its enormous damage output. Tangling Growth costs HP to employ as well, but it more than makes up for it by healing Rex per target struck.
In Risk of Rain 2, the Artificer is modelled after the “mage” archetype. She possesses an arsenal of mid- to lengthy skills that are ideal for kiting many mobs of opponents. She can utilise her flamethrower to deal sustained damage (for those who prefer to put more distance between themselves and their opponents).
While the Artificer is a safe survivor to use, she isn’t exactly reliable when it comes to runs. If you can’t find the correct materials, her offence isn’t too overwhelming.
Commando was a key survivor in the first game, but he hasn’t been as impressive in the second. The primary issue with Commando, and the reason he is classified in the d tier, is that most of his technical talents aren’t unique. They’re fairly prevalent among other survivors, and his primary is a double-tap. It is inconsistent. Similarly, the secondary Phase Round and Phase Blast are superior.
Tactical Dive and the slide are also noteworthy, especially with the new Frag Grenade update. Commando lacks single target, grip DPS, AOE damage, and Utility, all of which are important to us. Again, tier rankings are subjective, so if you’re having fun with its ridiculously quick Proc Coefficient that relies on Double Tap, you can deal through 290 percent damage.
