May the force bring you a victory royale.
In what feels like their umpteenth collaboration to date, Fortnite and Stars are teaming up (again) to celebrate Skywalker Week, bringing three of the arguably most iconic movie characters of all time to the battle royale.
As Fortnite continues to amass every IP from every medium to builts its cameo-filled metaverse, we still have some notable icons missing from the game. We’ve experienced many Star Wars crossovers since the beginning of Fortnite. They’ve mostly been directly tied to ongoing projects from Disney, like The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and The Mandalorian. But the trio that started this whole franchise was missing—until now. Han Solo, Princess Leia (or Leia Organa), and Luke Skywalker are now available as skins in Fortnite, with loads of different styles. And yes, you can use your Fortnite account to get them from the Item Shop.
Ever Heard of Star Wars?
In case you’ve been living under a rock (we don’t judge, though), Star Wars was written and directed by George Lucas. Released on May 25, 1977, Star Wars follows the story of Luke Skywalker as he’s drawn into a galactic war between the Rebel Alliance and Empire. Ultimately, the film was hugely successful with critics and audiences. This led to George Lucas creating two more sequels—The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi—both of which were also well-received.
Of course, Epic Games wanted that piece of pie for their game, and what better way to introduce a bunch of Star Wars fans to Fortnite than by having their skins available in the Fortnite Item Shop?
Fortnite Skin Prices
As for how much the skins will cost, they’re priced at 1,500 V-Bucks each, which includes the three styles. If you want to splurge a bit, you can get the following Star Wars bundles:
Luke Skywalker Bundle (2,400 V-Bucks)
⦁ Luke Skywalker Outfit
⦁ Slugthrower Rifle Pickaxe
⦁ Training Remote Back Bling
⦁ Lil’ Speeder Bike Emote
⦁ X-34 Landspeeder Glider
Han Solo & Leia Organa Bundle (2,500 V-Bucks)
⦁ Han Solo Outfit
⦁ Leia Organa Outfit
⦁ Vibro-Staff Pickaxe
⦁ Electrostaff Pickaxe
⦁ Millenium Falcon Back Bling
⦁ R2-D2 Back Bling
If you’re looking to save a bit of money, but you also want more accessories to pair with the skin, then the bundles are the way to go. Getting both bundles for 4,900 V-Bucks instead of all three skins without their respective accessories for 4,500 V-Bucks is a great deal. However, if you want a single skin—like Luke Skywalker—it’s better to purchase it as a standalone.
Styles Available for the Star Wars Skins
As we’ve said before, each skin comes with three styles automatically, with the first being their default style. Here’s what you can pick from:
Luke Skywalker
⦁ A New Hope Tatooine style
⦁ Return of the Jedi black style
Han Solo
⦁ A New Hope vest style
⦁ Return of the Jedi jungle warfare style
Leia Organa
⦁ A New Hope white dress hood style
⦁ Return of the Jedi bounty hunter disguise style
And in case you were wondering, no—the Bikini Slave Leia style will not be available in Fortnite. But who knows? Epic might do some revisions down the road.
The Best Stars Wars Skins Since in Fortnite So Far
Over the years, Epic Games has teamed up with many different movie and TV franchises. But the most extensive collaboration at this point is definitely with Star Wars. Thanks to the efforts of both sides, players now have a pretty solid selection of Star Wars skins to use in the battle royale.
Everything started in 2019 with the classic Imperial stormtroopers, and then it quickly expanded with five skins that tied in with The Rise of Skywalker. Fast forward to 2022, we’ve got six new Star Wars skins for the year, and there are still a couple of months left before it ends. Here are the best Star Wars skins we’ve had in Fortnite so far:
⦁ Imperial Stormtrooper
Ah, what a classic. Epic initially released the Imperial Stormtrooper skin in November 2019. It’s considered Fortnite’s first Star Wars skin and one of the best. Whenever this skin shows up in the Item Shop, you can find it for around 1,500 V-Bucks.
⦁ The New Trilogy Set (Rey, Finn, and Sith Trooper)
Rey was part of the plethora of skins that came out during the release of The Rise of Skywalker. She’s known to be a must-have for players that love to use emotes—mainly because of the odd faces she makes when doing them. Should you happen upon her in the Item Shop, you’ll see her selling for 1,500 V-Bucks as a standalone Outfit or 3,500 V-Bucks if bundled with Finn and the Sith Trooper.
And then we have Finn, who was also part of the massive drop of cosmetics that hit Fortnite at the end of 2019 to promise The Rise of Skywalker. Finn’s features resemble the likeness of John Boyega, who played the character’s role in the film. Like Rey, you can get Finn in the Item Shop during the daily rotations for 1,500 V-Bucks.
Of course, the New Trilogy set wouldn’t be complete with the Sith Trooper to hunt down Rey and Finn. The trooper was released initially with a Sith Trooper Blaster Back Bling, but it looks like Epic Games decided to sell the cosmetic as it is after its debut.
⦁ Darth Vader
There is nobody as iconic as Darth Vader when talking about Star Wars. Sure, you might contest that Chewbacca or Luke Skywalker also belong on the same stage, but none possess the prowess and infamy of Anakin Skywalker. Unfortunately, Darth Vader was only available in Chapter 3: Season 3’s Battle Pass, which means there’s no current way of obtaining him in the foreseeable future.
More to Come
Now that the big three are in the Fortnite Item Shop, who are we missing from the franchise? Only time will tell whether Chewbacca, Palpatine, or C-3PO will make their way into the game as skins. Still, in the meantime, we at least have Leia Organa firing an assault rifle with a team consisting of Superman, Itachi Uchiha, and Master Chief.
